What is Holding You Back in Your Career? (Part Three)

Updated: Sep 2, 2019

I want to explore the common themes that hold us back in our careers. In this series of three articles, I will share with you some of the most common scenarios I have witnessed over the years, in order to help you address some of the things holding you back.

Have a Success Mindset

Let’s talk more about mindset.

It’s simple really. Today you woke up feeling like crap; you thought of all the work you had to do and it made you feel worse; you get to work and you want to hide under your desk; you take all feedback personally; you feel like an imposter; and self-doubt is eating you alive. At no point today have you made any effort to change this pattern. What do you think is going to happen? How will you feel?

You MUST replace your negative thoughts with positive ones. When you hold onto negative energy it will block the flow of your desires from coming into your life.

To reiterate yesterday's points, no matter what action you take, it will be pointless if your mindset remains stuck in negativity.

Limiting beliefs are destructive, so it’s best to ditch them as soon as possible.

You have to believe in yourself.

You have to see yourself succeeding in your career. Have unwavering resolve that you will succeed.

Remember, what we discussed in Part One; learn from failures.

Do not be slowed down by setbacks.

Who do you spend time with?

Surround yourself with positive and encouraging people. As Jim Rohn says;

You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.

Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. Use the power of habit and affirmations to focus on your intentions.

Absolute clarity and determination, combined with a success mindset and 100% belief in yourself, will help you to create a career you love.
