Creating a Career You Love: Recognising when your work isn’t working for you (Part One)

Having a happy, successful and fulfilling career is closer than you may think. We all have the power within us to grow and transform. Sometimes you just need a little help.


Perhaps you are unhappy at work, struggling with your career or trying to find the right one. Working day in, day out in a job that makes you miserable.


You might need some help setting goals. Often, we know we are meant for more, but getting clear on what that looks like can be hard.


You might feel stuck in your comfort zone. This is very common if you have been in a job for a long time. You know in your heart you need to break away but you fear the unknown. It isn’t unusual in this situation to lack confidence.


With so many people feeling totally out of whack with work/life balance, many of us feel stressed, anxious and overwhelmed. We find ourselves running from one crisis to the next; trying to untangle ourselves from bad habits such as working long hours, and being held prisoner by perfection, can feel impossible.


All of the above can leave us feeling zapped of energy and stuck in in a negative mindset. We then end up drowning in procrastination. Going from day to day in work that leaves us feeling unfulfilled can be soul destroying.


People might comment that you have lost your sparkle and you don’t seem quite yourself.

It becomes all too easy to end up questioning whether you are good enough.


Trying to break out of this circle is hard but not impossible. Sometimes we just need a little bit of help.


With about one-third or 30 percent of your life spent working, it is so important for us to be fulfilled in what we do.
